In preparation for my upcoming degree show and ultimate graduation soon approaching I have taken professional steps to help promote myself as a working graphic designer. I felt a minimal approach to suit my work and personality was appropriate to represent myself accurately. The monochrome choice of colour, I find both professional and sophisticated, a touch of gold for my business card was to leave an impression on the individual. I wanted an alternative reminder for my degree show, therefor I have created a mini portfolio to hand out on the night or mail to possible employers. The mini portfolio will consist of postcards of my work, a CV and business card wrapped with a translucent paper and sticker to hold it all together. I feel my work displayed on the postcards are my best projects from this year and hopefully be placed on desks, around studios and offices further promoting myself longer.
Alongside my printed portfolio, CV and business card I have created my own website to showcase an online portfolio. I wanted to keep with a similar aesthetic to give a sense of self-branding therefor kept it minimal and professional looking. A link will sit within our degree show website under my own profile and work.
The opening night of my degree show and private showing to industry, will be on the 27th May held within out own studio and where I have spent the past 4 years learning. All that is left to do now is gather my work for final hand assessments and construct my portfolio for the show.
My business cards and postcards have now been sent to print and I am awaiting their delivery.
A new CV fitting with my self-brand identity.
